This course provides an awareness of the current legislation requirements and good practice relating to administering medication, or supporting others to administer medication, in a care setting. It will provide attendees with the skills required by care workers* in line with CQC requirements to handle, prepare and administer medications safely and the knowledge of the management of medication, the care worker’s roles and responsibilities and what to do should an error occur.

- Ordering, receiving and auditing medication
- How to administer medication

- Recording medication administered and monitoring individual's medication
- Controlled Drugs
- Consent and ensuring the individual(s) you support know what they are agreeing in regards to the way in which they are supported
- Medication errors
