The Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care is aimed at staff working in a variety of adult care settings i.e. residential care and nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or lead personal assistants in a team leader/senior role who want to develop their skills and knowledge to demonstrate competence in their advanced role.
The qualification aims to develop specialist skills and knowledge to enable you to progress in your career and take lead in your responsibilities. Such areas include assessment, enablement, assessing performance, quality of care delivery, coaching and mentoring colleagues. The course is CQC recognised and is supported by Skills for Care and Skills for Health.
On this flexible course, you will be guided through a range of workshops by experienced and qualified assessors.
No formal qualifications are needed to join the course. However, the following are required
An allocated assessor will guide you through the diploma and assess your work practice through workplace observations and knowledge workshops. Workshops are usually done on a one-to-one basis in the workplace but at certain times of the year, there are opportunities to join group sessions. Independent learning is also supported on this course.
On successful completion of this course, there are opportunities to progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management, a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and other professional courses including social work and nursing. You may wish to choose leadership themed units at level 5 within the Level 4 Diploma to prepare you for progression at a later date.
