Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF)

The Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care will provide you with the knowledge required to start your career in a health or adult care setting at level 2. It will help you to understand your job role and give you the knowledge to perform well. The course is CQC recognised and is supported by Skills for Care and Skills for Health.

The diploma is made up of nine mandatory units and a range of optional units. The optional units you choose can be tailored to your specific work role. For example, you could specialise in dementia or learning disability.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are needed to join the course. However, the following are required

  • At least 18 years of age
  • A caring and supportive approach to working with others
  • Working in an appropriate care setting in a paid or voluntary position
Course Assessment

An allocated assessor will guide you through the diploma and assess your work practice through workplace observations and knowledge workshops. At certain times of the year, there are opportunities to join group and classroom sessions where you learn and discuss the knowledge in class and then go on to complete your workbooks. For anyone that struggles with writing, there is also opportunity to complete your work through speaking and recording instead. We always analyse your learning style first and work with you in the best way that suits you.

Course progression

If you’re working in a care setting, this is the qualification that you will need to start your career. It will help you to understand your job role and give you the confidence to perform well in the workplace. On successful completion of the course, you can progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, or onto a wide variety of other courses.
